I.; during the First World War enlisted in the United States Army July 22, 1918, and served overseas in France and England; was discharged from the service on September 22, 1919; engaged in the insurance business in Lynbrook, N. Y.; member of the State assembly of New York 1945-1953; Republican committeeman since 1931; director and later chairman of board of Suburbia Federal Savings & Loan Association since 1945; delegate to each Republican National Convention from 1952 to 1964; delegate to eight New York State Republican Conventions; elected as a Republican to the Eighty-third and to the five succeeding Congresses (Jan 3, 1953-January 3, 1965); was not a candidate for renomination in 1964; president of real-estate and insurance company; is a resident of Lynbrook, N .Y. Deceased September 1981.
